Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Playfly Sports is seeking a business and legal affairs lawyer to provide day-to-day legal and business services for Playfly and each of its divisions, including Playfly Sports Properties, CSL Esports, Home Team Sports and Impression Sports & Entertainment. This person will be located at our NY office. Responsibilities include:
• Draft, analyze, review, and negotiate representation agreements with professional sports teams, conferences and leagues, regional sports networks, university athletic programs, state high school athletic organizations, venues and events (e.g., bowl games); content development agreements as well as agreements with sponsors, on-air talent, and others
• Provide legal advice and support in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments
• Anticipate legal and contract/deal issues, and design and execute strategies to remediate risk to Playfly and its clients
• Support human resources, finance and other groups within the Company
• Identify, research and analyze relevant federal, state and local requirements and translate into business solutions
• Assist with dispute resolution and litigation oversight
• Assist with oversight of risk management
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Work Experience Requirements and/or Competencies:
• 3+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or corporate legal department
• Outstanding written and oral business communication skills
• Excellent drafting and negotiating skills
• Experience with consumer data privacy/security issues, technology transactions (including software as a service (SaaS) agreements), intellectual property and employment law a plus
• Familiar with a wide variety of general corporate and transactional work
• Creative problem-solving skills to assist in meeting business needs and seizing new opportunities, while mitigating risk and managing key relationships
• Strong commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Ability to work collaboratively with others, and cooperatively with senior and executive-level staff
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task multiple priorities
• JD degree, admitted to practice law in the state New York (must have evidence of good standing), or candidate must have the ability to waive in within 6 months of hire

Playfly Sports is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation includes salary, incentive targets and company benefits.

The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
