LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for a full time, permanent position in Austin, Texas. The Litigation Paralegal will assist the attorney in all aspects of litigation including commencement of action, discovery, pre-trial, trial, appellate, and post-trial. A large part of the position is appellate work. This role is onsite with some flexibility to work remotely.

Responsibilities include:
• Assist attorney with initial client interview
• Assist with drafting, tracking of deadlines and organizing responses to requests for admissions, requests for production, requests for disclosure and interrogatories
• Assist with document gathering and review of client documents for relevancy, privilege
• Set up depositions, draft notice or subpoena and arrange for reporter and service
• Prepare for trial testimony, including working with experts and witnesses to gather and organize documents and exhibits for deposition
• Organize trial notebook and assist with trial brief
• Assist with pre-trial motions and briefs
• Summarize trial testimony
• Assist in preparation of briefs, including performing cite checks
• Assist attorney with post-trial work, including post-trial briefing, bonds, etc.
• Assist in collection work for garnishments, levy

Experience:
• Four-year degree, or Paralegal certificate, or 10+ years working in the industry
• Experience reviewing record and case citations for proper form and accurate content on appellate briefs

Skills:
• Familiarity or willingness to learn rules in various appellate courts
• Ability to proofread and edit law office correspondence and legal case matters
• Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations and maintain records and filing systems
• Ability to transcribe legal documents at 50 wpm
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
• Ability to travel locally and nationally
• Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
• Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week and may require irregular hours

Employment type:
• Full time, Direct hire

Compensation:
• $70,000 - $90,000
