Pay Range: 120,000 – 150,000/salary

 
 
Job Summary
 
The Associate Counsel position is responsible for preparation of real estate fund documents, represents the company in private real estate funds, and prepares joint venture agreements. This position requires experience representing funds and investing in commercial real estate. Should have at least five (5) years of commercial real estate investment and funds experience. Must have Joint venture experience. Experience within a large law firm is required.
 
Essential Functions
  • Independently negotiate and draft a wide variety of business, real estate and employment contracts and agreements
  • Manage real estate transactions, from land acquisitions, land entitlement (research, application, review, final map and permits), single family residential, multi-family and commercial property purchases and sales.
  • Provide support to the Company’s compliance functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide risk management support for all business functions
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage a large volume of assignments
  • Regular and consistent attendance to monitor, support, and advise on daily changes in business activities
 
Minimum Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and be willing to take on new projects as assigned. Moreover, an individual must be able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team with business units, accounting, and legal. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
 
  • License to practice law in the State of California and in good standing required
  • 5 years of experience working as an attorney, although additional experience preferred
  • Detail oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, Excel and related software programs
