Job Summary

We are seeking a detailed-oriented Tax Associate to work closely with our team in the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns. This position will stay current on tax changes and law and will employ general accounting in preparing returns for client business entities. We work as a team to ensure firm success, and as such, you will be expected to pitch in to help on projects as needed.

What You’ll Do

· Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for multiple entity types (1040, 1120S, 1065, 1041, etc.)

· General accounting for client businesses for use in income tax preparation including preparation of trial balances and related adjusting journal entries

· Stay current on latest tax law changes

· Learn tax research techniques to provide support for tax planning services

· Assist in preparation of Forms 1099 and W-2 for clients

· Assist with tax research and consulting projects

· Perform other duties as necessary

About You

· Minimum 2+ years’ experience in tax preparation

· Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations

· Strong knowledge of Excel and Word

· Experience with Lacerte, Quick Books, and CaseWare preferred

· Availability to work overtime and weekends during peak tax filing periods

· Strong reconciliation and analysis skills

· Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness

· Solid organizational skills, follow up, and high attention to details

· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

· Bachelor’s degree required

· CPA preferred, but not required
