English for Law Program Instructor at IPERC

Job Description

IPERC is looking for experienced educators to join with our Legal English course at the college-level .

The instructors must have a Bachelor’s or above degree in their discipline. They also must be able to create and deliver effective and rigorous college level introductory courses including their syllabi based on the course descriptions. Previous teaching experience in a college setting is highly preferred. Since this is a remote position, candidates that are fluent with computer software and technologies (i.e. Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) are highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Construct effective and rigorous college level introductory courses and their syllabi
• Prepare and deliver a daily lesson plan
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Provide a variety of learning materials for use in educational activities
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development
• Assign and grade class work, assignments, and tests
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's or above degree in the major of Law
• Previous teaching experiences in teh following courses:Effective Communication using Legal English / Legal Writing for Foreign Language Learners / Write with Purpose: Essential Skills for Lawyers / Thinking like a Common Law Lawyer: Introduction to the Common Law Methodthrough the lens of CONTRACT law
• Previous teaching experience in Legal English course
• Certification or licensure in Legal English and teachers
• Reliability and Flexibility

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Preferred teaching time is 8am - 11am EST or 8 pm -11 pm EST (2 hours session class), as most of our classes will be scheduled during these times (Essential)
• Prefer having more free time can be scheduled for class
• Prefer experience working international students
• Prefer experience teaching online
• Prefer experience teaching college-level(Desirable)
