The Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS), is a nonprofit organization with a mission of promoting self-sufficiency and equity for immigrants, refugees, and the underprivileged through comprehensive health and social services, capacity building, and advocacy. We are seeking a staff attorney for the immigration department to provide direct legal representation to underserved members of our community. Compensation:

$50,000 - $60,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
• Conduct client consultations and screen for immigration relief.
• Provide direct legal representation and advice to clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and the Immigration Court who are pursuing legal relief.
• Assist with family reunification by providing direct representation to persons undergoing consular processing with the U.S. Department of State.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on changes in immigration law and procedures.
• Supervise and train legal support staff; also assist with keeping up with compliance for our grants.
• Promote CPACS’s mission by participating in local community events, conferences, and other meetings with local stakeholders and community partners.
• Assist in other CPACS projects as needed and perform tasks as required by senior management.
• 1-2 years of experience filing N-400, N-600, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-90, Fee waivers, and Asylum applications preferred.

Qualifications:
• Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
• Member of good standing in the bar of any state and/or the District of Columbia
• Have knowledge of immigration law and policies
• Sensitive to the needs of clients from a wide array of backgrounds and perspectives

Founded in 1980 to serve immigrant and refugee families in Georgia, CPACS is the first and largest Asian and Pacific Islander health and human service agency in the Southeast region. CPACS serves clients of many different demographics (both Asian and Non Asian) in both the medical and social services departments.
