What you’ll do:

Working in Intellectual Property Rights Policy and Compliance, the Senior IP Analyst will be responsible for the following primary duties:

Individuals in this role use rights data intelligence to support HMH’s Digital First, Connected Strategy while protecting against compliance risk. The Senior IP Analyst performs rights data research and analysis that ensures IP compliance, informs product lifecycle and revenue opportunity decisions, and prevents IP-related risk. Duties may include rights data analysis and reporting; advising stakeholders on the proper use of fonts, trademarks, and copyright notices; granting permission to customers to reproduce HMH content for alternate uses; and collaborating to refine and document departmental processes and procedures. This role employs knowledge of intellectual properties usage, copyright regulations, and contractual limitations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

What you’ll need:
• Minimum 3-5 years) related industry or functional experience.
• BS/BA in related discipline
• Experience in: data analysis, information management, problem solving, delightful customer interactions
• Understanding of: data interoperability, intellectual property law
• Ability to: make value judgments and prioritize tasks within the realm of responsibilities; communicate compellingly, prioritize in a time-sensitive environment
• People skills needed to: create productive working relationships in a cross-functional team; work independently and as a member of a diverse group

Preferred but not necessary:
• Experience in: rights and permissions/contracts/intellectual property law and communicating legal guidelines and policies
• Knowledge and/or experience with Agile frameworks and values
• Familiarity with Smartsheets, data literacy, rights management and/or digital asset management systems and/or tools
