Responsibilities:
• Perform privacy product counseling, and data and privacy-related provisions of commercial agreements in the realms of ecommerce, financial services, AI and machine learning, advertising technology, crypto, and more.
• Handle complex product counseling and commercial negotiations with strategic partners.
• Build cross-functional processes to ensure scalable privacy and data protection tools are part of product development.
• Identify and manage cross-functional strategic initiatives that will substantially push Shopify’s privacy and data protection practices forward.
• Serve as subject matter expert assisting in commercial negotiations with merchants, vendors, and partners.
• Work with leadership to develop Shopify’s strategy on privacy and data protection, and ensure that it evolves appropriately in an ever-changing world.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on the Legal Team and around the company to appropriately train Shopifolk to identify, respond to, and properly escalate privacy and data protection issues.
