Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Use your legal expertise to provide business partners with trusted advice as a member of the Sam's Club Legal Team. Our Senior Counsel Advertising and Media position will allow you to drive strategy while empowering Sam's Club to make informed decisions that align to enterprise objectives. Join the Sam's Club Legal Team, to partner with business leadership on fast-paced, financial-focused operations and strategy. This role will provide legal support for MAP (Member Access Platform.) The position will provide strategic counsel and transactional support for our advertising sales business and ad tech platform. You'll make an impact by:
• Supporting the growth of the MAP (Member Access Platform) business by helping to build a legal governance framework, including creating best in class contract templates and processes, to enable the business to scale and grow quickly while managing legal and reputational risk
• Negotiating high value and strategic agreements (including digital advertising insertion orders, platform terms and conditions, custom content agreements, vendor/master services agreements, and sponsorships)
• Reviewing marketing and advertising materials and communications
• Supporting the development of new advertising products and services
• Providing legal advice by providing clients with an informed understanding of the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks to allow the client to make informed decisions
• Leveraging technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows

You'll sweep us off our feet if...
• You have ad tech, ad Agency digital advertising and/or media buying experience, with an understanding of data and privacy considerations
• You have negotiated upfront agreements or annual media commitments in the national media and shopper media markets with the largest Food, Consumables and Tech Fortune 500 companies in the world
• You have experience negotiating terms related to the use of first party and third-party data (including the matching of data via clean room environment)
• You thrive working in fast paced environments, with a high volume of transactional work
• You have a strong track record of negotiating novel and complex agreements with some of the largest companies in the world
• You are a go-getter, who is passionate about adding value and being a trusted advisor to the business
• You have substantial, diverse legal experience (ex. combination of in-house, government, leading law firm, etc.)
• You empower your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals
• You work proactively and leverage preventative measures in the spirit of protecting stakeholders, customers, and employees

This position will be based in Bentonville, AR. Currently, we are not considering a remote or hybrid role.
