The Job

As the Health Information Management (HIM) and Privacy Manager, you will assess and implement workflows pertaining to Health Information management. You will be responsible for creating the daily operation and management of the Health Information work groups in keeping with ZoomCare policies and procedures, professional standards, and state and federal laws. You will work closely with our Director of Compliance and Privacy to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the access and privacy of a patient’s health information (PHI) in the health record. You will partner in the ongoing monitoring of compliance with policies and procedures, the provision of staff training and education, as well as tracking and investigating PHI breaches to uphold patients’ privacy rights.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the redesign, process improvement and management of HIM operational processes including conducting enterprise wide assessments on workflows pertaining to HIM activities.
• Oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information privacy practices.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures related to the access and privacy of a patient’s health information (PHI) in the health record.
• Works collaboratively with providers and other departments to effectively respond to inquiries regarding health information.
• Coordinates with senior leaders, operational leaders, and other staff as needed to access health records.
• Develops and maintains systems for health information collection, quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Assists in tracking and investigation of incidents involving PHI and staff training education regarding privacy.

Requirements
• This is a remote position and you must be located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Colorado.
• Bachelor's Degree
• A minimum of 7 years supervisory experience in health information management or a related field required.
• Experience within a primary care delivery system preferred.
• At least 7 years of professional experience working with healthcare operational data systems and EHR systems required. Experience with NextGen and/or Epic preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state statutes; HIPAA-compliance
• Experience managing EHR implementation for HIM activities.
