• The Senior Marketing Manager for the national Litigation practice is a critical leadership role with a mission to elevate the brand and services of the firm's largest practice group.
• The position requires a self-starter and leader, with accomplished critical thinking skills and a thorough understanding of the value proposition of a complex litigation practice and the role that plays in a sophisticated global law firm.
• This seasoned professional will collaborate closely with practice leadership to enhance awareness of the group's capabilities and success, inside and outside the firm.
• This individual should know how to position litigation services to be responsive to client needs and reflective of issues that are driving the need for legal services.
• The Marketing department is a highly collaborative team of professionals who work closely with practice groups and sectors to build the reputation of DLA Piper and our lawyers.
• The team works with firm leaders to create and execute strategy that addresses DLA Piper's business goals.
• We also measure business efforts to identify the most strategic focus for our lawyers' efforts.
• The Senior Marketing Manager will partner with other teams in the Marketing Department, including communications, events, business development, administrative and executive team members, to achieve business objectives.
• + BA/BS degree in marketing communications, business or related field
• + 8 years' experience in marketing/business development in a professional services environment
• + Proficiency with MS Office products to include Word/Excel/Power Point
• + Experience and ability to plan strategically, execute tactically and have a client service focus
• + Strong writing and presentation skills
• + Ability to analyze data and use multiple sources of information to develop solutions and recommendations
• + Self-starter and leader with accomplished critical thinking skills and a thorough understanding of the value proposition
• + Excellent communication and data analysis skills
• + Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• + Prior leadership experience practicing within a marketing department at a large law firm
• + Experience within litigation and disputes practices

• Candidates must possess the ability to plan strategically, execute tactically and have a client service focus.
• They must possess strong writing and communications skills, as well as the ability to analyze data and develop go to market strategies that capitalize on the group's differentiators and align with the group's growth objectives.
• As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will work with practice group leaders to identify market leading practice areas, priority sectors, and key geographies.
• You will develop compelling content focused on key messages in each of the above areas with particular attention to data driven proof points and client value to ensure enhanced visibility and awareness of the group's capabilities and differentiators.
• You will also collaborate with public relations, digital marketing, events, and design to develop proactive marketing campaigns that boost awareness, favorability and engagement.
• You will provide key input and support into the Client Feedback program and work with practice group leadership to incorporate client feedback into practice marketing and service efforts and lead the onboarding and integration of key laterals and their client base.
• You will also work with the Director of Practice Group Marketing to help plan practice meetings and retreats and advise practice leaders regarding steps needed to achieve group strategic goals.
• You will analyze research provided by Competitive Intelligence and firm research teams on clients, trends, and law firm competitors in order to develop conclusions and recommendations that advance the practice group's strategic goals.
• You will actively participate in increasing the firm's practice group brand and position by collaborating with the communications team to share thought leadership via digital media, strategic PR campaigns, targeted client events, and speaking and publishing opportunities.
• You will thoughtfully lead directories and submissions to ensure appropriate recognition of the practice group's capabilities and successes on behalf of clients.
• You will facilitate and contribute to the development of compelling content for proposal/pitch materials and RFPs/RFIs in conjunction with the Pitch and Proposal Team.
• You will actively participate in lawyer meetings at the practice and sector level, and work with practice group leadership to develop and manage the practice marketing budget to align with practice group priorities; track actual expenditures and measure ROI. You will measure and report to leadership on metrics to determine success and areas of improvement for all strategic efforts mentioned above.
