Description
The Assistant General Counsel provides a full range of legal advice and services. The Assistant General Counsel provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Primary Care and Home Solutions Legal Team, the Assistant General Counsel, Home Solutions will support Humana's wholly-owned home health entities, including CenterWell Home Health (f/k/a Kindred at Home) and onehome, other Home Solutions services and products, such as durable medical equipment, home infusion, and innovative home offerings, providing strategic legal guidance and working across the enterprise in in furtherance of Humana's strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic advice and counsel on operational and regulatory matters, as well as guidance on issues arising in the day-to-day functionality of Humana's Home Solutions line of business.
• Provide legal advice to business and clinical staff leadership regarding relationships with payors, including Medicare Advantage organizations, as well as other health care providers and entities.
• Collaborate with other members of the Primary Care and Home Solutions team to support operational, quality and risk management processes impacting CenterWell Home Health, onehome, and other Home Solutions entities.
• Work closely with Compliance, Risk, other attorneys, and key stakeholders on policy matters, compliance and internal audits.
• Assist with M&A projects as may be necessary from time to time.
• Identify areas in need of legal process improvement as it relates to Home Solutions and execute on same.

Required Qualifications
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years of combined experience in health law, including a direct experience advising a Medicare certified home health agency.
• Active membership in a state bar association.
• Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
• Strong skills in communicating legal issues to various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently under general or minimal supervision in a team setting.
• Ability to work in a complex organization with diverse clients at all levels of the company, including senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
• A fluent understanding and expertise in a wide range of health law areas.
• A strong preference will be given for someone with substantive experience in counseling home health agencies.

Additional Information

Vaccine Policy:

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.

Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
