We advise on all aspects of the creative and exploitation pipeline of motion pictures, television and streamed programming, strategic transactions, advertising, marketing and promotions, branded entertainment, guild and union negotiations, music, art, fashion, live and esports, and gaming. With our depth of understanding of the business, we also represent entertainment and digital media companies and major brands in their financing, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions matters. We have been involved in some of the most significant and high profile deals in the industry.

The Century City office of Sheppard Mullin is seeking a mid-level associate to join its dynamic Entertainment, Technology and Advertising practice group. This is an opportunity to become a well-rounded entertainment business and legal negotiator at the nexus of all media transactions. Our clients require sophisticated, intellectually curious and dedicated counsel to advise on their matters. Candidates should have experience and be interested in handling a range of strategic Entertainment matters and deals. This Associate will have a genuine passion for the law and interested in growing their own practice and reputation, providing leadership and mentoring to junior associates, and becoming an integral part of a collegial, diverse, and premier Entertainment practice. In this role, the Associate will also work on the top, most cutting edge deals in Hollywood and beyond in a boutique practice group environment with the added benefit of the diversified, economy-resistant, full-service practice specializations of an AmLaw 50 law firm. Additionally, you will have the ability to leverage our department and firm relationships to expand your skills of a business developer in furtherance of taking ownership of your career.

Excellent academics, legal research, writing and analytical skills are required. Must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and be admitted to the California State Bar. Top candidates will possess outstanding academic credentials from a Tier 1 law school and have AmLaw 100 law firm experience.

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of experience working on Entertainment transactions in Film, Television, and/or Streaming, Digital Media
• Experience in Development, Finance, Production and Distribution preferred
• Fluency in 2nd language is a plus (Spanish and/or Portuguese)
• In-house counsel entertainment experience also a plus
• Copyright or intellectual property knowledge and expertise highly desired
• Superior writing and organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in friendly client-facing manner and as part of a collaborative team
• Excel in a fast-paced environment concurrently servicing multiple leading industry clients
• Other unique life or work experience also valuable
