SALARY:

$150,000-215,000/yr. Base Pay + Up to $50,000/yr. Bonus + Fully Paid Anthem Blue Cross Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. Generous 401k matching. Paid time off.

LOCATION:

Experienced attorneys will be permitted to work on-site or remotely. Less experienced attorneys will be required to work on-site for a period of one year.

DESCRIPTION:

Burgeoning California employment and civil rights firm seeks a full-time associate to participate in ongoing litigation and trial preparation in the areas of employment law, whistleblowing, and civil rights.

Extensive experience (minimum 2 years) of California state civil litigation experience is an absolute requirement, with federal litigation experience being a major plus. The applicant will be expected to possess a high degree of competence and skill in the following areas: (1) project and calendar management; (2) discovery drafting and management; (3) law and motion practice (including motions for summary judgment and discovery motions); (4) evidence and document management; (5) legal research; (6) client management; and (7) trial preparation.

Impeccable judgment, maturity, and ability to self-manage assigned litigation/trial projects are absolute requirements. Ability to maintain an affable yet closely-coordinated professional relationship with colleagues is a must. The position is subject to a 1,750 annual billable hour minimum.

The firm is presently litigating a number of high-profile cases involving public corruption, and the applicant will gain first-hand experience with these matters through litigation and trial. The firm’s primary focus is Fair Employment and Housing Act (“FEHA”) and Labor Code § 1102.5 retaliation litigation.
