Job Description

We are currently seeking an immediate paralegal or legal assistant for Richmond, Virginia, to work for a large plaintiff personal injury firm. Work at one of the top-tier personal injury firms in Virginia. This a full-time non-exempt level position reporting to one or more attorneys whose number one priority is client care. The responsibilities of the Litigation Legal Assistant are to manage the day-to-day critical tasks on cases as they progress through the litigation process through regular client communication, utilization of the case management system, and working alongside the attorneys to seek the best results for our clients.
• Attention to detail, filing experience with courts, working with the demanding caseload, document software, and personal injury experience are a plus.
• Document management software preferred
• Litigation background
• Trial management for ongoing cases and litigation
• Schedule all trial-related meetings.
• Calculate and calendar court deadlines.
• File pleadings in state and federal courts, the court of appeals, Virginia Supreme Court.
• Manage and audit liens, including liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation.
• Frequently communicate with clients, adjusters, healthcare providers, and judges in person, by letter or email, and by phone.
• Coordinate a calendar of activities associated with each case.
