Position Summary

This position is in the Bureau of Standards in the Officer Records section. This is a full-time position that is responsible for providing immediate assistance in accessing and updating information regarding officer employment, training, and certification to criminal justice agencies and Commission certified training schools . This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

Specific Duties Include

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides assistance to criminal justice agencies, training schools, and the public regarding determination of eligibility requirements for certification of law enforcement, corrections, and correctional probation officers;
• Provides assistance to criminal justice agencies and training schools in identifying and resolving user problems in accessing and utilizing Automated Training Management System (ATMS);
• Coordinates and provides security administration for the ATMS system;
• Review and process applications for criminal justice instructor and K-9 applications for certification;
• Review and approve/deny applications for certification as law enforcement, corrections, and correctional probation officers;
• Coordinates and conducts statewide training workshops with criminal justice agencies and training schools regarding ATMS;
• Research public record requests for officer and instructor information, and statute, rule, and policy and procedures interpretation; and
• Ensure that waiver and variance of Commission rules are processed accurately and expeditiously. Assist customer and general counsel in retrieving information when waiver request is incomplete.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Minimum Qualifications
• A high school diploma or its equivalent.

• Ability to understand and apply applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to criminal justice standards and training programs;

• Ability to operate video and telecommunications terminals, personal computers and other office equipment;

Base Salary
• $31,200.00

Background

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
