Job Description

Welcome to the University of North Texas System, or UNT World as we like to call ourselves. UNT World includes the University of North Texas in Denton, the University of North Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.

The appointment will be as an entry level tenure track Assistant Professor or as a tenure track Associate Professor depending on prior experience.

To be eligible for appointment as Associate Professor the candidate must have at least 5 years prior experience directing an academic success or bar readiness program.

The professor will teach 6 credit hours per academic year beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year. Courses will include academic success and bar readiness courses, and a substantive course, depending on interest and match. The position will begin in Fall 2021.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various other faculty and staff to review, develop, and revise as necessary the Academic Success and Bar Readiness (ASPBR) Program at the College of Law
  • Supervise all faculty and staff working in the ASPBR Program
  • Responsible for creating, presenting, implementing, and monitoring the departmental budget
  • Expected to work largely independently, with minimal supervision, able to make significant decisions impacting academic support and bar readiness matters, and demonstrate initiative and creativity in supervising staff, budgetary matters, and creating programming for the office

Requirements / Qualifications

  • J.D. degree

  • Superb academic and professional qualifications

  • Experience directing an academic success and/or bar readiness program

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve excellence in teaching and in guiding and mentoring as to professional formation of students

  • Commitment to the goals of the College of Law and its curricular and instructional methods and goals
