The Law Department provides timely, efficient and business-focused legal services to the company. The Law Department’s substantive legal activities fall into the following general categories: Litigation, Regulatory, Transactions and Corporate Services. Within the Regulatory category, the Rate Design team provides litigation and pre-litigation, regulatory, and transactional support to clients across a broad spectrum of matters.
The Attorney will work in the Law Department, reporting to the Managing Counsel for Regulatory, Land and Environment. The Attorney will have the opportunity to advise clients within PG&E’s Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Customer Care organizations on matters such as:
Electric rate design;
Electric demand response programs;
Gas rate design; and
Energy efficiency and related customer programs.
Workload permitting, the Attorney will also be provided opportunities to develop expertise in other areas of law, including but not limited to revenue requirement proceedings and related environmental programs.
- Work with PG&E’s Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Customer Care organizations on rate design and related proceedings.
- Provide timely and business-focused advice and counsel to PG&E’s Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Customer Care organizations on matters concerning rate design and related matters.
- Research, review, interpret, and provide advice and counsel on state and federal statutes, administrative regulations, decisional authority, tariffs, and any other relevant legal sources as they apply to specific utility situations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Registered In-House Counsel permit, California (if applicable).
1 year Legal Experience (or other industry experience relevant to the position).
Active Bar Admission, California.
4 years Legal Experience (or other industry experience relevant to the position).
