Position: Manager, Law Enforcement Torch Run
Department: Development
Supervisor: Director, Law Enforcement Torch Run
 
Job Role:
 
Manager, Law Enforcement Torch Run is responsible for supporting strategies that build, develop, and strengthen partnerships with law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Florida. The responsibilities of the position are to provide support to the LETR Director and manage several functions of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
 
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree preferred in business, sports management, or related field
  • Understand and embrace the mission and philosophy of Special Olympics and our athletes
  • Sports knowledge desired
  • Experience in budget management
  • Experience in marketing
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills including advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Regular attendance is required and must be willing to work after standard work hours and on weekends when necessary, including travel assignments across the state
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all functions of the LETR merchandise program, to include:
    • Prepare RFQ and research best options/pricing for yearly merchandise program
    • Prepare Purchase Orders for merchandise
    • Manage agency coordinators’ experience with merchandise program to include orders, transfers, returns and merchandise balance
    • Manage/oversee maintenance of database of orders, transfers and returns
  • Maintain database (Blackbaud) of current agencies, agency head’s and LETR agency coordinators
  • Oversee all aspects of LETR Kick-off events:
    • Secure a date and location for each event
    • Manage/oversee creation of registration site
    • Manage contracts for each event
    • Manage/oversee invitation process
    • Manage day-of volunteers and logistics of event
    • Create and deliver portions of presentation
    • Oversee distribution of merchandise
  • Manage State Torch Runs
    • Communicate with LETR Regionals to set run schedule
    • Attend local runs
  • Manage attendance at LETR International Conference to include:
    • Determine who attends, reserve rooms and travel
    • Attend conference
    • Manage attendee experience and participation at conference
    • Participate in Liaison sessions at conference
  • Manage all aspects of LETR Final Leg:
    • Secure venue, to include contracts for tent/seating/meal
    • Create route
    • Manage volunteers
  • Manage/oversee remittance process
  • Ensure Flickr account is current and up to date
  • Manage/oversee upkeep of LETR Facebook page
  • Manage/oversee maintenance of LETR event calendar
  • Create signage and collateral
  • Manage volunteers at LETR events
  • Manage thank you letter process for agency participation and events as needed
  • Manage invitation process and requests for participation for LETR and SOFL events
  • Attend Development Department Special Events and support as needed.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Manage Dream Ride attendance
Special Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel and complete weekend and evening duties as assigned
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
 
Status: Full-time exempt position
Salary: Based on experience
