Fun fact: Liberty Mutual's Legal Department is the equivalent of a mid-sized law firm, with specialists in employment, compliance, investments, litigation, and several insurance practice areas, including personal, commercial, and insurance coverage.

Another fun fact: We're looking for qualified interns to join our legal department for an intensive 10-week Summer Law Clerk Program.

The details

If you're a motivated law student searching for the unique opportunity to work with industry specialists on day-to-day matters and challenging projects, the Summer Law Clerk Program may be for you.

As a Summer Law Clerk, you'll work with a mentor to examine and understand the intersection of law and business at Liberty Mutual as well as network with senior leaders.

A few of your responsibilities may include performing legal research, drafting memos, summarizing legal findings, and advising and counseling business clients. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in our award-winning pro-bono program.

We are looking for ambitious applicants who are between the second and third years of law school. Positions are paid, full-time (40 hours per week), and are based at our home office in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

You must be currently enrolled in a JD Program.
You must have completed your second year of law school with a competitive GPA.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You must submit a writing sample along with law school transcripts to be considered for this position.
