The firm’s expanding Client Services department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Counsel. The Marketing Counsel will report to the Director of Content. This position may be based in our Atlanta, GA, New Orleans, LA, or Torrance, CA office, and other office locations will be considered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Moderates firm webinars and podcasts and works with attorneys to tee up topics, write marketing copy for flyers and the website, and review materials.
  • Edits and writes the firm’s online and print publications, including blog posts, newsletters, and marketing copy as assigned.
  • Manages high volume of firm webinars and podcasts, including keeping content development and presentations on track.
  • Works with firm practice and industry groups, as assigned by the firm and as needed, to help with internal and external marketing.
  • Edits seminar and webinar materials including white papers and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Tracks developments and trends that will impact practice areas and firm business goals, and proactively develops and helps the Client Services department and firm attorneys develop relevant content, including through use of webinars, publications, blogs, podcasts, and graphics.
  • Attends internal and client-facing events as needed to support our attorneys and clients.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Law degree from an accredited institution, with a background in marketing or communications a plus.

  • Excellent writing/editing ability and communication skills. Knowledge of style manuals preferred.

  • Prior relevant communications, editorial, or authorship experience.

  • At least three years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of labor and employment law.

  • Active practice experience in labor and employment law preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Self-motivated and highly organized. Ability to anticipate work needs, multitask, and follow through with minimum direction while adapting to changing priorities and work demands.

  • Ability to work under multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, other members of the Client Services department, as well as other departments and staff.

  • Excellent client/customer service skills.

  • Experience with Smartsheet a plus.

  • Travel as needed by the firm.
