Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA) has been exclusively retained by The Johns Hopkins Health System ("JHHS" or "Organization")to conduct a search for an Associate Senior Counsel, Technology & Commercial Transactions , to be located in Baltimore, MD. JHHS is an equal opportunity employer.

About the Technology and Commercial Transactions Group
The Technology and Commercial Transactions ("T/CT") Group supports clients throughout JHHS and is responsible for providing strategic advice and counsel on a range of issues related to the acquisition, licensing and implementation of technology at Johns Hopkins, the commercialization of technology developed at Johns Hopkins, as well as drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial transactions and clinical arrangements. The Transaction Group supports the transactions needs of all entities within JHHS and is also responsible for managing trademarks and trade names, data use and sharing arrangements, legal management and oversight of the Health System's participation in the 340B Drug Discount Program, and numerous other roles supporting the operations and strategic alignment of the organization. Attorneys in the T/CT group work regularly with their legal colleagues in HIPAA, Compliance, and Risk and Claims in order to address the full scope of issues presented by various transactions and contractual relationships.
Position Overview: The Technology and Commercial Transactions Group is responsible for providing strategic advice and counsel on a range of issues related to the acquisition, licensing and implementation of technology at Johns Hopkins and the commercialization of technology developed at Johns Hopkins. The Associate Senior Counsel position will have a particular focus on supporting the Supply Chain and Sourcing team by drafting and negotiating a wide range of supply chain agreements (e.g. medical device and equipment purchase agreements, product purchases, RFP's, drafting templates and creating playbooks) and providing support in other areas, as needed. The Associate Senior Counsel will work regularly with their legal colleagues in HIPAA, Compliance, Risk and Claims to address the full scope of issues presented by various transactions and contractual relationships. Finally, the Associate Senior Counsel may also support various special projects and committees throughout the health system in such areas as new program feasibility and development, policy standardization, Certificate of Need, etc.
Experience: J.D. from an accredited law school. A minimum of 5 (five) years of legal experience and robust experience supporting supply chain activities (e.g. medical device and equipment purchases, product purchases, RFP's, drafting templates and creating playbooks). The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about the anti-kickback laws that govern these activities. Preferred experience with procuring rentals, major medical equipment and providing equipment evaluation in the healthcare space.
Location: Baltimore, MD, and hybrid options.
