The city of Surprise is looking for Police victim advocate.
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview and an assessment exercise
Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:
Criminal Background screening
- Incumbents support the daily operations of the Victim Assistance Program.
- Responsibilities include providing crisis intervention, victim advocacy and support services to victims of crime or personal crises. Incumbent coordinates and works with law enforcement, city prosecutor's office, city court, outside agencies and victims of crime.
Requirements / Qualifications
Associate's Degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology or a related field and three years victim assistance, law enforcement, crisis intervention or related employment experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
