Job Description
The position may begin as early as January of 2023, or in August of 2023. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.
D. in criminal justice or a closely related field; Ph. D. students who are ABD will be considered. Preference given to applicants with the ability and experience to teach these courses : corrections, juvenile justice system, the death penalty, violent crime, intro to the U.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education
Education
Ph.D. in criminal justice preferred; will consider ABD applicants
Experience and Training
Prefer prior teaching experience, especially in the following courses : corrections, violent crime, the juvenile justice system, the death penalty, intro to the U.S. justice system
Knowledge, Skills, Ability :
Knowledge of the U. S. justice system and general criminal justice courses / programs, ability to academically advise students who are criminal justice majors, abilityto conduct scholarly research
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Teach three or four courses per semester depending on qualifications and rank (instructor,assistant, associate, full professor), perform departmental / university service, conduct research.
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Report to Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice, the Dean of the School of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences, and to the Provost of the University.
