If you want to part of a team of practitioners helping define the future of transportation, then join us as an Environmental Planner.As part of Jacobs' Baltimore office, you'll be a key member of a teams of experienced practitioners involved in the development of a variety of transportation projects, ranging from the preservation of local bridges and roads to the planning of regional transit systems. Some of your regular responsibilities will include:• Serving as the lead author for Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and other environmental compliance documents for both planning and design efforts.• Working with scientists, planners, engineers, and community involvement specialists in the preparation of technical studies and public and agency involvement communications in preparing complex environmental studies• Collecting and analyzing environmental, social and economic data to be used in developing alternatives to study under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related federal and state environmental disclosure laws• Assisting and supporting public and agency involvement programs.• Ensuring effective task completion by conducting regular client coordination and participating in internal task management.• Participating in competitive bid presentations to clients and similar sales activities.With Jacobs, you'll have the opportunity to work with teams based in the Mid-Atlantic and throughout the nation. By joining Jacobs, you'll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other.**Here's What You'll Need:**• A bachelor's degree in planning, environmental law, biology, or related environmental science program• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in planning, environmental analysis, or transportation planning. Completion of applicable master's program equates to two years of professional experience.• At least 2 years' experience preparing environmental documents used to demonstrate compliance with NEPA, Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act, Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act, or similar federal environmental regulations.• Exceptional writing and verbal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team approach internally and externally required.• Professional experience developing scopes, schedules, and budgets for environmental assessments• Proficiency with ArcGIS and Microsoft Office**Ideally, you'll also have:**• Experience serving as the lead author for a CE, EA, or a technical study used to support a NEPA study• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign)• Ability to maintain a high level of productivity while working remotely.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
