SUMMARY :
• This position will support General Counsel on a variety of corporate and general healthcare matters. This position will have to work well with attorneys as well as maintain the workload, work under pressure, and be a team player;
• quickly and efficiently prepare, review, and serve as liaison between the business team and vendors. Should be comfortable, skilled, cordial, and professional on the telephone to follow up on submitted matters;
perform any other administrative duties as may be necessary. This person is instrumental in re-organizing and standardizing filing systems / tracking of various legal matters, pulling reports, drafting internal corporate documents, organizing documents in an electronic filing system, creating standard forms, and implementing internal department processes.
This position reports to the General Counsel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Attend corporate meetings, prepare corporate resolutions, and other comparable tasks.
• Prepare agendas, minutes, scanning, insurance, compliance reports and respond to physician and facility inquiries.
• Track and coordinate non-party litigation matters, assist with data pulls re interrogatory requests, etc.
• File and manage various business entity documents for Corporations, LLCs and Partnerships with State agencies.
• Assist in drafting corporate documents, including articles of incorporation or dissolution, stock certificates and merger agreements, change of ownership, etc.
• Assist with ethics and compliance programs.
• Perform legal research.
• Work on special projects as requested.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid.
• Highly attentive to detail and able to handle large amounts of paperwork.
• Clear, concise, and logical writing style
• Interest in healthcare and healthcare law
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge and proficiency of Sharepoint / One Drive and MicrosoftOffice Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with outside vendors.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
• Bachelor's degree and / or paralegal certificate highly preferred.
• 2+ years of corporate law experience required. Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
• 2+ years project management experience.
