Job Summary
The Marketing Events Manager plans, manages and executes the strategy and logistics involved with firm-hosted client-facing events (virtual, in-person and hybrid), and the firm’s participation in strategic conferences and sponsorships. The Marketing Events Manager manages a senior marketing coordinator and interfaces with attorneys and staff across the firm’s practice groups and offices to successfully execute all manner of client development events. This position is highly-visible and an integral part of the firm’s marketing and business development function, working directly with the Director of Branding and Marketing Technology, The Chief Marketing Officer, firm leadership and the business development team.

Additionally, the Marketing Events Manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing industry best practices and finding creative ways to enhance Crowell & Moring events across all platforms and venues (web/digital, in-person, firm sponsored and third party-sponsored.).

The Marketing Events Manager serves as a member of the leadership team that develops and plans partner and all attorney retreats and is responsible for all logistics related to these events. The Marketing Events Manager interacts with clients, trade associations, vendors, and other external stakeholders to represent the firm and ensure maximum ROI for events.

Job Responsibilities
• Firm Events
• Manages firm events, including, but not limited to client-facing events and partners and all attorney retreats across firm practices and offices.
• Manages all aspects of client development and internal webinars using ON24 and the firm’s registration and e-mail marketing tools. This includes the strategy, logistics, distribution and post-even reporting.
• Trains office administrators and office support staff on events protocol to ensure the highest level of client service is provided to clients who are using the Crowell & Moring office meeting space.
• Works with operations, facilities, IT, conference services and other firm departments to prepare the offices for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events and support onsite visitors
• Works closely with design and branding team to coordinate all event-related collateral needs
• External Events and Relationships
• Works with the business development team and external conference/event planners to ensure the firm maximizes on opportunities and interactions associated with strategic sponsorships.
• Develops and maintains business relationships with external partners and outside vendors.
• Budgeting, Project Management, ROI Tracking, and Vendor Managemen.
• Manages the Crowell promotional products storefront, including liaising with the vendor, ensuring all products are in stock, resolving billing and working with stakeholders to keep the inventory fresh.
• Develops and maintains firmwide events toolkit to maintain brand consistency across all offices.
• Responsible for building and managing a sophisticated events team to increase firm branding and marketplace recognition, while maximizing ROI for the firm and its attorneys. This includes incorporating industry best practices into the full life cycle of an event, whether in-person, virtual or hybrid.
• Responsible for event due diligence with regard to site selection, vendor selection, and contract execution (for space, food, audiovisual needs, transportation, etc.)
• Manages/maintains the events section of the firm’s website, intranet page and contributes to bi-weekly business development reporting.
