Job Description

Patterson + Sheridan, LLP is seeking IP attorneys with a computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, physics, chemical engineering, chemistry, or biochemical background and 1 - 6 years of patent law experience, including patent preparation and prosecution, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions.

Patterson + Sheridan LLP is an international law firm with more than 70 attorneys across 7 offices in Dallas Greensboro, Houston, San Diego, San Jose, Shrewsbury, and Yokohama, Japan. Our style is highly collaborative and success is judged largely by how much you help others succeed. Although individual achievements are recognized and highly praised, we never forget it takes a true team effort to deliver the kind of work our clients have come to expect. When hiring, we ask one question: will this person make our firm a better place?

As an attorney at Patterson + Sheridan, you will receive solid training and opportunities for professional growth. We believe that associates should have client contact to see first-hand how large innovative companies, as well as pioneering start-ups, develop products and technologies that are literally changing the world. You can expect to take invention disclosures from inventors, draft specifications with minimal supervision, and generate claims requiring only moderate review. We offer a career progression, leadership training, and the opportunity to build client relationship skills. Each year in the professional life of a Patterson + Sheridan associate brings a wider and deeper development of expertise, designed to increase your value to our clients and our firm.

If you are interested in hearing more about Patterson + Sheridan, our training, our culture, and our extensive reach and experience in technologies that are changing the world, send your resume, cover letter, undergraduate and law school transcripts, and a 5-10 page writing sample.
