Job Description

Core responsibility and duties:
• Provide legal support and advice to business stakeholders, which may include advice in areas such as marketing, advertising, technology and other related matters.
• Partner with business teams to shape and steward complex technology transactions to close.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on both the company’s products and services as well as relevant laws and regulations.

Highlight day-to-day activities of the position:
• Draft and negotiate master services agreements, statements of work, contract addenda and amendments, and other agreements.
• Review, and interpret contract language, applicable laws and regulations and effectively communicate the corresponding impact to key business stakeholders.
• Liaise with other departments across the company—such as privacy, sales and account management, product management, and engineering—to maintain a literacy in the company’s products and position in the industry.
• Negotiate transactions with clients’ attorneys.
• Respond to daily inquiries from internal colleagues regarding a variety of legal matters.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain apprised of evolutions to the digital advertising and data privacy industries and corresponding statutory and self-regulatory updates.
• Share knowledge with other members of the legal department and train business teams on certain legal processes.

• As a member of the legal team supporting the digital practice group within Epsilon, you will be rewarded with the opportunity to be a key player in shaping transactions and the growth of the company. Attorneys supporting the digital practice group are heavily relied on to structure complex technology transactions, draft and negotiate corresponding contracts, and serve a trusted adviser in identifying risk and generating solutions. As a transactional attorney, you’ll be responsible for protecting the company’s interests while simultaneously adding value in revenue generation. With every deal you close, you’ll be contributing to the financial and technological growth of the company and positioning Epsilon and Publicis Groupe as premier organizations in the digital advertising industry.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in Illinois
• Minimum of 5 years of corporate experience with a law firm or corporate legal department
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
• CIPP/US certification is a plus
• Knowledge of data privacy laws and related issues and policies a plus
• A general understanding digital advertising or a related background is a plus
• A background in business is a plus
• Proficient in standard project and contract management software (Salesforce, JIRA, DocuSign, etc.) is a plus
• Ability to analyze complex issues and advise internal business partners appropriately
• Strong aptitude for emotional intelligence and persuasion in communication
• Must have exceptional writing skills
• Ability to be a collaborative strategic partner with business teams
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines

The salary range is $100k-$115k. This is the salary range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
