Job Description

Applicant workers' compensation firm specializing in professional athletes combined with a general workers comp practice is searching for an attorney who is ambitious, writes exceptionally, has great research skills, and can interact with professional athletes.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • California Bar License (Preferred)

  • Excellent research and writing skills;

  • At least three years legal experience;

  • Experience taking and/or defending depositions;

  • Court experience;

  • Handling cases from: a) intake to settlement/trial;

  • Ability to relate well with former professional athletes ranging from those currently playing to those who last played in the 1960's;

  • Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary;

  • A passion for the injured worker.

  • At least three years Applicant Attorney experience;

  • Experience with sports workers compensation re: Depositions, hearings, trials, trial preparation, pre-trial briefing, post-trial briefing, appellate briefing, drafting writs;

  • Experience in professional athlete workers compensation cases and non-professional athlete cases;

  • Trial experience as an applicant attorney;

  • Published cases;

  • Experience litigating and settling law enforcement claims along with a wide array of other professions;

  • Filing and litigating SIBTF claims;

  • Civil litigation experience including writing briefs, making court appearances, etc.

  • Strong writing skills;

  • Law Review/Journal participation in law school;

  • Published law review articles; and

  • A love, or at least a healthy appreciation, for sports or injured athletes.

  • law school law review/law journal or moot court: 1 year (Preferred)

  • California Bar License (Preferred)
