Job Description

The Law Offices of Ellis & Ellis is a top rated personal injury law firm located right in the heart of Covina, CA. With over 10 years of personal injury, criminal defense, and labor law experience, our office takes great pride in our connection with the community and our clients.

Our law office is looking to grow and we are eager to hire a part time legal secretary to assist with daily tasks. The legal secretary will primarily be working in the personal injury department. The Legal Secretary will work under the direction of an attorney, but is expected to complete his/her work independently.

This position is a part time job that requires availability on Tuesdays & Fridays from 9am to 5pm. Please note this is NOT a remote or hybrid job. Pay is $16 - $18, based off experience.

This is an entry level position that requires computer literacy. While experience in the legal field is a plus, we are open to training the right person to join our team!

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift (9 AM to 5 PM)
  • Tuesdays & Friday

Ability to commute:

  • Covina, CA 91723: Reliably commute to work on time (Required)

This position is only available to those who are already residing within the United States of America.

COVID-19 considerations:
Common surfaces are cleaned daily & Air Purifiers are in place

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete client intakes.
  • Assist in filing insurance claims.
  • Assist in organizing medical documents.
  • Communicate regularly with client regarding case status.
  • Answer phone calls with little assistance
  • Manage independent case load and ensure all strict deadlines are met.
  • Maintain internal case management system.
  • Assist attorneys with calendaring court cases and client meetings
  • Locate and develop relevant case information
  • Speak to prospective clients that are looking for an Attorney for representation.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Must speak fluent (or close to fluent) Spanish; non-negotiable

  • Ability to operate Mac Desktop, Pages, Numbers, Microsoft Office Suite (with little to no help) is a requirement.

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred

  • 1 year of previous law firm experience is preferable

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and high level of organizational skills

  • Ability to accept areas of improvements during bi-annual evaluations.

  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company
