Your Role and Responsibilities

The Intellectual Property Operations and Sales Enablement Intern supports role based enablement programs and content for business development executives (BDEs), technical sellers and managers with a particular focus on impeccable execution.

Mission: Fuel the growth of the world's best sales force to acquire and apply the deep technology, sales and industry skills to deliver value for all of IBM's clients through innovation and operational excellence.
• Support the day-to-day sales enablement operations activities of the Intellectual Property organization by providing BDEs with sales enablement support tools and processes with continuous improvement employing Agile methodologies and with ongoing, direct engagement & communications with our BDE and executive teams.
• Assist to assure that BDE Sales Enablement processes are continuously improved using LEAN principles.
• Support delivery of customized education for the global business development executive teams.
• Support the IP Operations and Sales Enablement team to provide outstanding service to our organization and our executive leaders.
• Support the IP Intern Program team events and help improve engagement, learning and intern skills building.
• Support the IP Operations team to onboard and assist new team members.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Prior IBM intern experience a HUGE PLUS
• Sales enablement and operations practices experience
• Understanding of IBM sales tools and the end-to-end sales cycle a plus
• Microsoft Office Proficiency required
• Very organized, efficient time management skills, excellent project management skills, prompt and responsive to all requests
• Highly adaptable and able to pivot between tasks seamlessly
• Ability to embrace change and be innovative. Enablement plans often require flexibility or last-minute input
• Excellent writing and communication skills and a sharp eye for editing and netting down the message
• Be a go-getter with a get-the-job-done attitude
• Remove obstacles to get RESULTS
• Intellectually curious and determined to get the job done
• Be innovative – quickly identify problems and design and deliver solutions
• A self-starter who learns quickly and on-your-own and will hit the ground running

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise
• Knowledge of software development and coding skills (ie. Javascript, HTML, CSS)

About Business Unit

IBM's Intellectual Property Team is missioned with both defending IBM's vast array of patents and other IP assets, as well as driving a significant amount of IBM's net income through licensing or selling IBM IP. This team works closely with our clients to identify opportunities to advance their business objectives by leveraging assets from IBM Research and IBM brands, worldwide.

The IP team is comprised of both seasoned IBM sales and offering development professionals as well as experienced executives who have a deep understanding of IBM's Research, patent and product portfolios. By constantly re-inventing the IP business through innovative offering and deal models, the IP team consistently delivers business results that directly influence IBM shareholder EPS and are a critical fixture of the financial objectives for IBM's lines of businesses and IBM Senior Executives.

Location Statement

Supplemental 1 employees may be eligible for paid holidays, paid sick time and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

The compensation range for this position is based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
