Job Description

Come join the legal team for the Best Performance Golf Brands in the world. TaylorMade Golf Company (“TaylorMade”) is looking for a Corporate Counsel to provide legal support for TaylorMade at TaylorMade’s headquarters, located in Carlsbad, California. Most work will be U.S.-focused, but there will be some support of TaylorMade’s global regional offices. The Corporate Counsel will report directly to TaylorMade’s Director of Legal Affairs.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Consumer Engagement and eCommerce teams in the United States and global-regional offices, and coordinate with subject matter experts relating to compliance, product/service development, intellectual property, data security and privacy concerning GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, CAN-SPAM, cookie practices, opt-in/-out, ADA, and other consumer protection laws, policies, and regulations
  • Provide comprehensive, global, legal advice and documentation to support the Company’s operational initiatives, including corporate contracts and commercial agreements
  • Maintain and enforce TaylorMade’s sales policies in the United States and regions, monitoring changes in antitrust laws and business activities, and periodically enhancing competition policies and processes to adapt to changing risk environment
  • Conduct and/or coordinate training to sales and customer service professionals on applicable company policies and laws in the United States and regions
  • Develop corporate and legal compliance policies and processes to implement best practices and mitigate risk and support TaylorMade’s compliance committee
  • Develop and deliver training on privacy related issues
  • Remain current in legal requirements and best practices regarding privacy law and compliance
  • Ability to issue spot legal issues arising from TaylorMade’s business activities and provide recommendations
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Legal Affairs

Requirements / Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of legal practice, with emphasis on privacy law and transactional practice in an in-house and/or law firm setting, with significant responsibility handling own workload with minimum supervision

  • Experience with privacy law compliance is preferred

  • J.D. from a nationally accredited and recognized law school. Strong academic record

  • Member, in good standing, of California bar, or other state’s bar with ability and commitment to register to practice in California pursuant to California’s in-house counsel registration requirements

  • Plays golf and/or loves sports with a strong interest in playing golf
