Republic Finance is seeking an outstanding, business-minded attorney with expertise in marketing and consumer finance to join a collaborative, high-performing Legal & Compliance team. Since launching our digital platform in 2019, Republic Finance has been rapidly growing our online suite of products and significantly expanding our marketing reach. As a result, we are expanding our legal team and seeking qualified candidates to partner with our marketing and online lending teams to fuel the growth of our business. This position can be based in Baton Rouge, LA, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC.

Requirements / Qualifications
3-7+ years of relevant experience with the legal and regulatory aspects of marketing financial products to consumers with existing expertise in, or a desire to become expert in, online lending, lead generation, electronic funding, and telephonic and digital marketing.
Knowledge and application of federal consumer protection and data privacy laws and regulations, including but not limited to, ECOA, TILA, EFTA, FCRA, TCPA, GLBA, CAN-SPAM, and UDAAP, as well as any state-level counterparts for Republic Finance’s footprint, with a focus on those most applicable to marketing and operating an online lending business.
Ability to work with minimal direction and exercise independent judgment and discretion, anticipate and mitigate friction points, and take the initiative to promptly resolve and learn from challenges.
Ability to assess risks and provide thoughtful advice in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to grasp technical concepts and convey them in a simple, user-friendly manner.
Ability to remain current on relevant industry, consumer protection, and privacy laws and regulations as well as the ability to participate in industry working groups.
Ability to work effectively with external parties (regulators, vendors, etc.).
Ability to communicate regularly with, and make formal presentations to, the general counsel and executive management regarding policy and business considerations.
Technologically savvy– proficient in all standard applications and possessing the ability to master proprietary and licensed software.
Law degree – must be licensed by, and in good standing with, at least one US state bar licensing authority.
