Sirnaomics, Inc. is a leading clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in the discovery and development of RNAi therapeutics for treatment of cancer and fibrotic diseases. We are seeking candidates to fill the newly created position of Paralegal for our headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD.

This position will serve to oversee in-house daily operational work under legal and compliance requirements, including preparing of documents relating to various patent applications and related legal filings and correspondence, as well as maintaining contractor and other vendor files.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing and tracking of patent applications and related filings, various legal correspondence and other documents under the direction of management and attorneys
  • Coordinate with various project management staff to ensure patent filings and strategy aligns to project endpoints
  • Coordinate the meeting with management, attorneys, and other professionals to talk through patents to ensure appropriate program management and assist in the development and implementation of patent strategy for product candidates
  • Assist corporate compliance management, tracking the company legal filing schedule and organizing and maintaining legal documents in a paper or electronic filing system
  • Preparing briefs, wills, contracts, real estate closing statements, pleadings, appeals, and other legal documents
  • Directing and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas, notary etc

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science related field, preferably biology, chemistry, etc

  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies

  • Five or more years of experience working with patent applications in a biotech/pharma focus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
