Nokia Cellular Standards Patent Portfolio unit is responsible for filing, prosecuting, claim charting and managing one of the strongest and most multifarious cellular standard essential patent (SEP) portfolios in the world.

The team consists of experts in technology (telecommunications) and patent law, and works closely with the inventor community in Nokia Standards and Nokia Bell Labs.
What you will learn and contribute to

We are strenghtening the team with experienced patent counsel who can contribute to enhancement of the value of the Nokia cellular SEP portfolio.

You will be conducting such tasks as:
• Managing the cellular SEP portfolio
• Developing new methodologies to improve SEP creation processes including invention intake, strategic patent filing, and declaration to cellular standards
• Prosecuting patent applications with best-in-class patent attorneys worldwide
• claim charting patents against 3GPP standard specifications with support from top researchers in the world
• Analyzing SEPs and conducting prior-art searches
Your skills and experience

You have:
• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics/Mathematics
• US, CN or EP Patent Attorney/Agent qualification
• Extensive technical knowledge of cellular technologies especially in 5G radio & core
• Strong experience in patent prosecution and analytical skills
• Great skills in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Initiative to develop new and better ways of doing things
• Excellent communication skills

It would be advantageous if you also have:
• Experience in FRAND licensing and patent litigation
• Drive for excellent results
• Collaborative and responsible team-player mentality
• Abilities to lead, motivate and inspire others

Additional Information
• United State Salary Range: United States salary range: annual base salary of $117,783- $218,739 USD plus eligibility for incentive/variable pay

Silicon Valley salary range:
annual base salary of $142,739 - $265,087 USD plus eligibility for incentive/variable pay.
