Job Description
This is a nine-month position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service.
Located within the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, and one of the oldest programs at the university, the criminal justice curricula provides students with a liberal arts education whose focus is the complex relations among crime, law, and society.
Students are prepared for a broad array of careers through a strong grounding in theory coupled with experiential opportunities that reinforce practical, professional skills.
We are looking for a team member and a role model who supports the university's core values of service, humility, peacemaking, contemplation, and collegiality.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.
D. in Sociology, Criminology, Criminal Justice, or related social science discipline by August 1, 2023.
An active research agenda Strong quantitative and methodology background
Demonstrated ability to teach the following courses:
Introduction to Criminal Justice; Gender, Race and Crime; Writing for the CJ Professional (enhanced writing course); Corrections, Probation and Parole; Juvenile Delinquency and Justice; Introduction to Policing; Interview and Interrogation; Victimology and Crisis Management.
Practical experience working in law enforcement, the courts, corrections, probation/parole or victim services is a plus.
